Peter’s Ice Cream Shop has everything you are looking for: a hometown atmosphere, passionate owners, and delicious 100% handmade ice cream. The owners, Stefan and Marika, haven’t always been in the ice cream business. They both started their career as managers of major companies in Germany, but that was not their passion. Stefan continually imagined himself having his own ice cream shop in Southwest Florida. Next to all the bad things that were caused by Covid, Stefan and Marika saw their opportunity to make their dreams come true. They sold everything they had in Germany and are now starting their new lives here in downtown Fort Myers, running an ice cream shop.

The bakes good in here are exquisite and made fresh daily. I highly recommend the chocolate muffin for anybody with a sweet tooth. To counter that, I got their specialty lemonade to drink which was refreshing and flavorful for a summer day.

If you're in Fort Myers you gotta check out Peter's Cafe. It's legitimately one of the best coffee houses in downtown. AS soon as you walk in the door, the staff are friendly and welcoming. The baked goods are all made on site and delicious. Try the croissant made with only four, fresh ingredients imported from Germany.

My husband and I are always on the hunt for hidden gems when we travel, and Peter's German Cafe was exactly that. From the moment we walked in, we were pleasantly greeted by the family and made to feel welcome. The atmosphere is warm, cozy, and inviting. I had the Blondie Iced Latte along with a breakfast sandwich with scrambled eggs, provolone cheese, tomato, mayo, and bacon. Everything was fresh and delicious, and the latte was amazing. My husband had an iced vanilla latte and a breakfast sandwich on a bagel with ham, turkey, tomato, cheddar, and scrambled eggs. He loved every bite. The coffee was outstanding, the food was made with care, and the hospitality truly set this place apart. It's easy to see why this family-owned café has become such a local favorite. If you're looking for great coffee, delicious breakfast sandwiches, and a welcoming atmosphere away from the tourist crowds, Peter's German Cafe is a must-visit. We'll definitely be back! ☕❤️

The Chocolate Sponge Cake is heavenly, and the best I’ve ever had! It’s not too sweet, and it is very light and ‘fluffy’. It goes great with the Dirty Chai Tea Latte!! Everything is made in house including their delicious ice cream. The owners, Stefan & Marika are wonderful and always there to serve you. I love stopping in here when I’m in downtown Fort Myers.
